Pike County Schools Update Contact Tracing Policy

The Pike County School Corporation has updated their contact tracing and quarantine policy.

School Officials say they will no longer be requiring close contacts to quarantine.

If a student or employee is identified as a close contact, the parent or guardian will still be notified.

A close contact is someone who was within three feet of an infected person for 15 minutes or more while at school or a school activity. The same applies for students on buses at 6-feet.

Infected students are required to quarantine for 5 days after a positive test and may return to school on the 6th day if fever free for at least 24 hours.

The changes were approved by the Pike County School Board on Tuesday.
