One person is dead following a fatal crash in Daviess County.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call around 2:30 pm yesterday afternoon reporting a single vehicle accident with injuries.

The crash happened on US HWY 50 near the Daviess and Knox County line.

When first responders arrived on scene, they say two people were trapped in a 2003 Ford Ranger that was upside down in the westbound lane.

The driver, identified as 57-year-old Alexander J. Scott, was extracted from the vehicle, and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

The passenger, identified as 45-year-old Misty D. Webber of Knox County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed nearly two hours while crews cleaned up the scene.

Officers believe the snow and ice-covered roadways were a contributing factor of the crash.
