Smithville has completed its $15 million fiber overbuild project in Jasper.
The citywide project is expected to bring gigabit connectivity to businesses and residence.
Smithville divided the construction segments in Jasper into 27 “fiberhoods.”
The first residential customers on the new Smithville network were turned on in 2016.
New fiber from Smithville is now available to more than 7,500 homes, businesses and facilities in Jasper, and more than 3,000 residents have subscribed.
