A Gibson County man was arrested after police say he pointed a firearm at his wife.

Sunday around 7:30 pm, Indiana State Police and the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Francisco after 48-year-old Joseph Davis allegedly pointed a firearm at his wife and threatened his two children.

Police say both children and his wife fled the residence and ran to a neighbor’s house to wait for police.

Davis walked to the neighbor’s house and kicked in the front door. His wife and children then fled on foot. Davis fled the area in his pickup truck when he heard police sirens.

Princeton Police located Davis and attempted to stop the vehicle, but Davis continued driving south at a low rate of speed.

Davis eventually stopped after seeing tire deflation devices being deployed by Indiana State Police.

He was then arrested without further incident. Troopers located a loaded .38 caliber revolver inside the pickup truck.

Davis is currently being held on bond in the Gibson County Jail and is facing over half a dozen charges.
