Ellen Jane Lee age 80 of Washington passed away Friday, May 14, 2021 at The Legends Village Assisted Living.

Ellen was born January 9, 1941 in Washington to Thomas J. and Ernestine (Doyle) Palmer. She graduated from Washington Catholic High School in 1959 and attended St. Mary of the Woods. Ellen married James Morris Lee on August 13, 1960. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church where she served as an Eucharistic Minister. Ellen loved traveling with Morris and many family members and friends across the country and around the world by motor home, camper and especially cruise ships. Her faith was very strong and she was seen at most every daily mass. Above all things she loved Morris her high school sweetheart, for more than 60 years and was always by his side. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, never missing a school program, sporting event or special occasions.

Ellen is survived by her husband Morris; son Gerald “Jerry” (Shannon) Lee of Washington; brother Thomas J. (Rita) Palmer of Conyers, GA; two sisters Patricia (Bill) Joyce of Washington and Mary Sue (Jack) Shulin of Cumming, GA; four grandchildren Tiffany (Steve) Flick of Plainfield, Joshua Lee, Alexander Lee and Maggie Lee all of Washington; six great-grandchildren Everly Flick, Hayes Flick, Ellisyn Flick, Rylin Flick, Daylon Flick and Keenan Flick and sister-in-law Judy Palmer of Lawrenceville, GA.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters Cheryl Lynne Lee Charles, Michelle Ann Lee and brother Michael Palmer.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Ed Lee Mortuary North Chapel, 620 E. Viola Ave, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Father Paul Ferguson will be celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
