Announcement from the City of Washington:

As the city of Washington continues to monitor the COVID-19 virus, it is important that we also continue taking precautions to protect the health and safety of our citizens and employees. The city of Washington will take the advisory mandate into advisement throughout the city, except with the extension of the latest governor’s executive order 21-06. All city offices and buildings will maintain the mask mandate for all public traffic until May 31, 2021. At this time we will re-evaluate this mask mandate. We remind you that you may continue to conduct business with the city by wearing a mask throughout all city buildings and continue social distance protocols. Please call that specific department to make an appointment or to see if it can be conducted over the phone.

Washington Municipal Utility lobby locations (City Hall and Eastside) also will remain open and customers can continue making payments by using the drop box locations, the drive-thru at the Eastside location and credit card payments by phone or online. If you are needing to connect utilities, please call 812-254-2730 to make an appointment. Please direct all utility questions to the Collection Office at 812-254-2730.

We will continue to keep the community informed of any changes if and when they arise.

If you have specific questions regarding COVID-19, please call the Indiana State Department of Health’s hotline at (317)-233-7125 or visit www.in.gov/coronavirus.
