Velvet Ice Cream recalling ice cream and sherbet

recall

The ice cream or sherbet in your freezer might be part of a new recall.

Velvet Ice Cream is recalling all ice cream and sherbet made after March 24 because it might be tainted with listeria.

Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, or people with weakened immune systems.

Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.

The recalled products were sold in various containers at stores in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

If you have any of the ice cream or sherbet, you should throw it away and not eat it.
