James E. Martin, 88, of Loogootee, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born December 10, 1931 in Loogootee, Indiana to the late James J. and Goldie S. (White) Martin.
Jim loved to travel, especially to Tunica, Mississippi and Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed car rides in the country with his daughters. He loved to go bass fishing. He adored his fur babies. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, White River Masonic Lodge and America Legion Post 120.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan Martin; grandson, Ian Martin; sister, Bonnie Davis; son-in-law, Mike Catt; stepson, Terry Oliver.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Debbe (Marvin) Osborne of Loogootee, Jacquie Catt of Vincennes, Brenda (Jerry) Edwards and Falicia (Tony) Hollaway, both of Loogootee; grandchildren, Carl (Barbara) Catt, Kena (Nick) Vieck, James (Jessica) Edwards, Natalee Edwards, Sarah (Kreigh) Knepp and Whitney Edwards, Breanna and Becca Hollaway; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; stepdaughters, Jeannie Pope, Becky Oliver and Angie Pittman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Goodwill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
