Barr Reeve advanced in the opening round of the 2A Volleyball sectional at Eastern Greene with a straight set win over Southridge 25-7, 25-10, 25-12. Next up for the Vikings will be host Eastern Greene. The Thunderbirds advanced with a narrow 3 to 2 win over South Knox 13-25, 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 15-7. Eastern will now face Barr Reeve in the semi finals at 12:30pm, while Linton plays Forest Park in the other semi final match at Eastern Greene Saturday at 11am. Washington moved on in the 3A sectional last night at Sullivan with a hard fought 3 to 1 win over Princeton 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 25-20. Next up for the Hatchets will be a show down with Vincennes Lincoln in the semi finals tomorrow at 1pm, live coverage starts at 12:45pm on Memories 107.9fm. The other match up on Sullivan tomorrow will have Pike Central playing Sullivan.
At Loogootee, North Daviess moves on with a tough win over Vincennes Rivet 3 to 2, The Cougars started down 2 to nothing but clawed back 17-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-15, 19-17. North Daviess will now play Loogootee at 12:30pm tomorrow, while Lighthouse Christian plays Shoals in the other semi final.
Congratulations to Zach Gray, Braden Kixmiller, Jaylyn Rook, and Caleb Armstrong for being voted as part of the 2020 All Conference team in boys tennis. Zach Gray was also selected to the 2020 All district team, and Owen Gray and Braden Kixmiller earned Academic All state honors.

The Atlanta Braves are one game away from the World Series after beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-2 in Game 5 of the National League Championship Series. Atlanta broke the game open with six runs in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
Carlos Correa hit a walk-off home run to lift the Houston Astros over the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in Game 5 of the American League Championship Series. The walk-off shot to center field kept the Astros alive, and Houston now trails the Rays three games to two.
Notre Dame tries to stay unbeaten Saturday afternoon when the Fighting Irish host ACC foe Louisville. The fourth-ranked Fighting Irish are 3-0 and coming off a 42-26 win over Florida State. Notre Dame is a 16.5 point favorite over the Cardinals, which are 1-3 and have lost all three conference games. Kickoff between Notre Dame and Louisville is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
