The showdown between faculty members and the president of the University of Evansville is becoming more intense. The university’s faculty senate yesterday voted no confidence in President Christopher Pietruszkiewicz. Professors are angry about proposed budget cuts that could lead to layoffs, and are demanding more of a say in how the university is run. The president didn’t offer a comment yesterday, but has said in the past that it is ‘unfortunate’ that faculty members are taking a hard line over cuts that must happen at the university.
