Gov. Eric Holcomb is issuing a statewide mask mandate.

Beginning Monday, July 27, any Hoosier over the age of seven will be required to wear a face covering in indoor public places, commercial entities or transportation services, or in outside public spaces when you can’t socially distance.

Masks will also be required in schools for children in third grade and up, along with all faculty and staff and anyone else in the building.

Violating the order could result in a Class B misdemeanor. A Class B Misdemeanor is punishable up to a 180 days in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. The Governor made a point to say that the “mask police will not be patrolling Hoosier streets.”
