An investigation has resulted in charges of Battery Resulting in Death and other crimes.
Washington Police say First Responders were called Monday to 1303 East Van Trees for a 16 month old child who was not breathing. The child was flown to Riley Hospital in Indy.
After further investigation on Tuesday; the child’s mother, 23-year-old Marissa Aishe was arrested by city detectives for Domestic Battery and Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury. Then on Wednesday, the child was declared brain dead and Aishe was then additionally charged with Battery and Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Death.
She remains jailed without bond at the Daviess County Security Center while the investigation into the incident is continuing.
