David Eldon Maryfield, 77, of Odon, Indiana, went to heaven surrounded by family, on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Bloomington, Indiana. He was born on March 31, 1943 in Odon to Eldon A. and Naomi Ruth (Fielder) Maryfield.
David was a member of the United Methodist Church of Odon, IUOE #841 and was a former Mason of 20 years. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Rogers Group until retiring in 1990. David enjoyed woodworking.
Family left to cherish David’s memory include: his fiance’, Christy Vaught; son, Chris (Aileen Blakely) Maryfield of Dumfries, VA; two daughters, Julie Maryfield of Bloomington and Karen (Tony Massey) Maryfield of Linton, Brian Maryfield, Sissy Maryfield Moody; five grandchildren, Michelle Maryfield, Mitchell Maryfield, Collin Roach, Allec ‘Flippy’ Roach and Acellyn Roach; sister, Peggy (Jim) Humphrey of Florida; two brothers, Larry (Sheila) Maryfield of Montgomery and Tim (Diane) Maryfield of Odon.
David was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger Maryfield and son-in-law, Ryan Roach.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. David will be laid to rest in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 25 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
In memory of David, memorial contributions may be made to Ketcham Memorial Nursing Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
