Joan P. Purdue, 80, of Washington, passed away at 12:14 pm Tuesday June 23, 2020 at Hillside Manor in Washington.
She was born April 29, 1940 in Daviess County to Paul and Pauline (Lents) Tipple.
Joan had worked at Perdue and in the laundry at the Baymont Inn. Joan was baptized at St. John Catholic Church in Loogootee when she was 18 months old. An avid bowler, Joan liked flower gardening and taking care of her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband Frank Purdue whom she married on May 2, 1986; her children Shawn Howell and his wife Rhonda of Loogootee, Paul Howell and his wife Christy of Dubois, Steve Norman of Newburgh, Travis Howell of Loogootee, and Kim Kendall and her husband Terry of Winslow; her grandchildren Cole Howell, Gavin Howell, Aaron Howell, Ryan Howell, Desiree Kendall, and Alexis Kendall; along with seven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were here parents.
Graveside services will be held at St. John Cemetery in Loogootee on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:30 am with Rev. Kenneth Walker officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home in Washington is proud to serve the family of Joan Purdue.
