Daviess Community Hospital announced some changes yesterday in their response to COVID-19.
They say there’s a tent in the ambulance drive up staffed 24/7. That’s where patients are received before going into the building. If there’s not virus symptoms they will be admitted, if there are symptoms they will be masked and there will be further assessment.
If a patient has a DCH provider they are asked to call a clinic to schedule a virtual visit. If there is not an established DCH provider call 254-9324.
DCH reminds you that they and other hospitals are not allowed to test a patient unless directed by the state. If a patient shows virus symptoms they submit the information to the state department of health which then determines if the patient is tested.
