Rivers under flood warnings

Widespread flooding continues along many rivers and streams in central and southern Indiana. A few sites have or will briefly go into moderate flood over this weekend.

This flooding will impact extensive agricultural land, numerous local and a few state roads, river parks, and other low areas near waterways.

Old Vincennes Road is closed due to high water.

All those with interests along local streams and rivers should pay close attention to changing river conditions and forecasts at least over the next several days and perhaps through the end of the month at a few locations.

The White at Edwardsport was observed at around 19 feet which is four feet above flood stage.  The forecast calls for the river to crest tomorrow at over 21 feet.

The White at Petersburg was approaching 21 feet today and will rise to over 23 feet by Tuesday.  Flood stage at Petersburg is 16 feet.

The East fork White at Shoals was around 18 feet and will rise to 23.2 by Wednesday. Flood stage there is 20 feet.
