Bids will be opened April 13th for the state and federal mandated phosphorus removal project at the Washington Wastewater Plant. The city council last night voted to advertise for those bids. The project has to be completed by July of next year.  Officials plan to start the project this coming June.  It’s estimated to cost $2 million to build a new building and put in the equipment required to remove phosphorus from the system.  Once the bids are received and opened, Midwest Engineers will review them and make a recommndation at the May 11th city council meeting.
