The Washington Board of Works and Safety met following Monday’s City Council meeting.   A request from Washington Catholic Schools for parking restrictions on NE 2nd Street was tabled after Washington Catholic instituted a drop-off and pick-up format suggested by Street Commissioner Brian Sergesketter.

The Board received three bids to demolish the derelict structure at 303 S. State Road 57.   The bids were taken under advisement.

The Board accepted the low bid from First Federal for financing 4 police vehicles.  Police Chief Todd Church said the police department will be replacing four more vehicles later this year.  The vehicles being replaced are all 2006 and 2007 Ford Crown Victorias.

The Board also approved position changes in the WPD made necessary by the retirement of veteran officer Tim Guy.
