The Daviess County Council on Wednesday heard from County Health Nurse Kathy Sullender who talked about several topics.

She informed them that the health board recently approved buying an exam table, a lap chair and a generator for the local Pregnancy Care Center.  It’s all for the center’s new site on West Walnut. She also said funds were provided to get some sporting equipment to be used by the Washington Powerhouse. That’s the teen program provided for those wish to participate or hang out at after school.  It’s described as a  is a safe environment for teens  where they are helped in building character and life skills to help in meeting their needs and the needs of their families.

She also said new AEDs or Automated External Defibrillator have been bought for various facilities.  The department provided the devices 10 years ago to schools and also to Camp Illiana.  Those machines are no longer under warranty and the department is getting a $400 trade in on them to get the machines.
