Janet “Wrennie” Rider went to her forever home on February 4th and was reconnected with the love of her life, Jerry Rider, who preceded her in death in August 2014. They were married in January 27, 1967 and up or down, thin or flush they always stood by each other’s side.

She passed peacefully at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX with her family at her side. She fought a courageous battle with cancer during which time not once did she ever lament “Why Me”.

She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, quilting and especially making Harley-Davidson T-shirt quilts to donate to the Toys for Tots auction and cooking. Family gatherings will never be the same without some of her famous dishes. She retired in 2014 from Washington Community Schools as the head cook and was always proud to be known as one of the “lunch ladies”.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ruth Wade, and also an older brother Billy Wade. She is survived by two sons, Bentley (Norma Jean) Rider and Brock (Julie) Rider, two older brothers Robert (Carol) Wade, Tom (Marilyn) Wade and a sister Judy (Lonnie) Barber. She is also survived by five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews that she loved very much, and who only knew her as Aunt Wrennie.
