Oscar B. Allbright Jr.

Oscar B. Allbright Jr., 89, of Loogootee, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born February 22, 1930 in Lost River Township to the late Oscar B. Allbright Sr. and Florence (Waggoner) Melvin.
Oscar was the Martin County Sheriff from 1967-1971. He also was a past Shoals Town Marshal. He was the former owner of Allbright’s Restaurant and Huron Grocery Store.
He was a master gardener. Oscar specialized in teasing and tormenting his family and friends. He was a member of the Loogootee United Methodist Church.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar B. Allbright Sr. and Florence (Earl) Melvin; siblings, Ray (Norma) Allbright and Vondale (Jim) Hopkins.
He is survived by his wife, Becky (Woods) Allbright of Loogootee; children, David (Carla) Allbright of Mitchell, Dwain (Becky) Allbright of Mitchell, Ryan Allbright of Tennessee and Bladen Allbright of Loogootee; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bob (Pat) Allbright, Edith Davis, George (Brenda) Allbright, Joyce (John) Jones, all of Shoals and Betty Jo Guthery of Orleans.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Loogootee United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Huron Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 14, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
