Lane restrictions planned on US 50 and Indiana 57 next week

KNOX COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane restrictions scheduled for U.S. 50 near between Wheatland and Vincennes.

Beginning on or around Monday, Sept. 23, contractors will close one lane of U.S. 50 in each direction between Hebert Road and South Robinson road for pavement rehabilitation and resurface. During the project one lane will be open in each direction at all times.

The restrictions will be in place around the clock. Weather permitting, work is scheduled to wrap up by mid November. Inclement weather could cause delays in the project timeline. While the project is active, motorists should leave extra time to get to their destination and avoid distractions while driving in the work zone.


PIKE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures scheduled for State Road 57 near Petersburg.

Beginning on or around Tuesday, Sept. 24, contractors will begin restricting the bridge spanning Flay Creek just about 4 miles south of S.R. 56 for a bridge deck overlay project. During this project workers will be patching and resurfacing the bridge deck and traffic will be reduced to one 12-foot lane.

Restrictions will be in place around the clock. Weather permitting, work is expected to be finished in late October. Inclement weather could cause delays in the project timeline. While the project is active, motorists should leave extra time to get to their destination and avoid distractions while driving in the work zone.
