Wrong-Way Driver Collides with State Trooper’s Car

A wrong-way driver on a southwestern Indiana Interstate was arrested Saturday night after colliding with a State Trooper’s car.

Around 11:25 p.m. Saturday night, the State Police received a report of a wrong way driver in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 near Lynville. The westbound vehicle was located around 11:30, but the driver refused to stop and continued west in the eastbound lanes. At that time, Trooper C.J. Boeckman drove his patrol car into the eastbound lanes. Again the driver refused to stop and struck the patrol car. The driver, identified as 52 year old Angela Ayer of Dale, Indiana, refused medical treatment and was taken to the Warrick County Jail. The State Police report Ayer had a blood alcohol content of .23%.
