Gerald Bradford Burke, 71, of Wheatland, Indiana passed away June 1st, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones.

Brad was a farmer and steward of the land.  He was in partnership with his mother and father for many years and eventually forming what is today Burke Construction and Farm Services with his wife and daughters.  Brad served as a board member for the South Knox school corporation from 1984-1996.  He was also a member of the Indiana Presbyterian church as well as a member of the Kessinger ditch drainage board.

He was born on January 21st, 1948 to Gerald and Mildred Burke.  On July 13th, 1969 he married his high school sweetheart Ruth Lynn Wilson.  Brad was preceded in death by his sister Penny Burke Schuckman and his parents.

Brad had a passion for farming and conserving the land.  He always took time to educate people on producing crops and how to conserve the land.  He enjoyed watching tug boats and barges, swimming and water skiing with his family at Kentucky Lake.  He always encouraged his family and others to be the best they could be.

Surviving are his wife Ruth Lynn Burke, and his daughters Marcie Mayall and her husband Richard of Monroe City, Indiana, Kallie Schuckman and her husband Brandt of Washington, Indiana, his grandchildren Kendall Mayall, Burke Mayall, Ashlynn Mayall, Kyra Schuckman, and Cooper Schuckman.

Friends may visit with his family from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday at Harris Funeral home in Petersburg.  The funeral will be conducted by Pastor Larry Langer on Wednesday at 1pm at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked for Memorial contributions be given to the South Knox FFA or Indiana Presbyterian Church.  Online contributions can be made at www.odharrisfuneralhome.com.
