Donna (England) Fitzpatrick, 95, of Washington, IN passed away November 21, 2018. She was born December 4th, 1922 in Washington, IN to Charles and Jewell (Yates)England of Plainville, IN where she grew up and graduated from Plainville High School.
Donna eloped and married Harry Chickedantz July 29,1941. During WWII, Harry was lieutenant in the US Navy and Donna always spoke fondly of how she traveled over 25,000 miles by train with her son Roger, to meet Harry whenever he came into a port. After the war, Donna enjoyed attending the basketball games that Harry was coaching. They enjoyed hosting gatherings of family and friends at the lake in Plainville. After Harry’s retirement, Donna and Harry spent winters in Naples, Florida with many of their friends from Indiana. She enjoyed cards, tennis, yard sales, parties, cruises, traveling, walking and was an avid reader.
Donna was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Psi Iota Xi, Beta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa, and Eastern Star. Donna was a positive force in so many lives. Her relentless energy and active spirit impacted everyone around her.
Donna is survived by two children; Charles Roger Chickedantz of Plainville Indiana and Lise Chickedantz Moore of Hamilton, Montana. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Harry Chickedantz of 44 years; her second husband Lloyd Fitzpatrick of 13 years and sister Virginia Chambon.
A service of remembrance will take place at a later date for family and friends. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve Donna’s family.
