Uncommon September flooding continues along the White and East Fork White Rivers in central and southern Indiana.  There is a River Flood Warning for both rivers.

The White at Edwardsport is expected to reach a crest of 18.7 feet by tonight.  Flood stage is 15 feet.  State Road 358 between Plainville and Edwardsport is closed due to high water.  At Petersburg, the White reached the 16 foot flood stage and is rising.  It’s expected to be at 18.3 by Sunday before starting to fall.  The lowland flooding will likely flood several low lying county roads.

The East Fork White River is rising in the Bedford area and will crest by Friday morning, and the river will begin to rise today in the Shoals area and crest there Saturday at about 12.5 feet.  Flood stage there is 20 feet.
