Roger B. Dillon of Washington, Indiana, passed away on March 19, 2018, at IU Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana, with his daughters at his side.

Roger was born at home on June 19, 1938, to Tony Dillon and Marjorie (DeMotte) (Breidenbaugh) Dillon in Pike County, Indiana. On October 19, 1968, he married Judith “Judy” G. Cutshall at First Christian Church in Washington. Roger was a graduate of Otwell High School and a former Army Reservist. Roger loved farming, classic country and bluegrass music, and basketball. He farmed from the time he was a teen until his late 30s. He also worked as a diesel mechanic in Pike County, a machinist at Graham Hydraulics of Washington and as a truck driver. In 2010, Roger retired from Daviess Trucking in Washington.

Active in state and local Pike County politics as a young man, Roger was a lifelong Democrat. He and his wife were also among the founding members of New Hope Christian Church in Washington.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Judy on September 14, 2001. His parents; brothers, Sylvester Alexander “Sonny” Dillon, Ralph Dillon and James “Jim” Dillon; sisters, Clarabelle (Dillon) Sheldon, Ninalea (Dillon) Lottes, and Virginia (Breidenbaugh) Traylor; three nephews and one niece also precede him. Roger leaves his daughters, Penny Dillon of Bloomington, Indiana, and Lorie Dillon (Mahesh Alur) of Chicago; his grandson Toby Dillon Alur; honorary daughter Anjanette Radford of Bloomington; sister Vivian (Dillon) Reed of Otwell; brothers, Horace (Joyce) Dillon of Otwell; Lowell Dillon of Huntingburg and Norman (Phyllis) Dillon of Petersburg; cousins, Peggy (Barnett) Beadles of Cato and Jane Rae Dillon of Bloomington and numerous nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at noon at Gill Funeral Service in Washington with visitation from 10 AM until the service. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery.
