The replacement of the old, outdated, and dangerous overhead bridge on East 15th Street in Washington took another leap forward. Bids on the project were opened at Tuesday’s Daviess County Commissioners meeting. County Engineer Jason Heile was pleased with the six competitive bids received…
Bids prices ranged from just under $2 to 2.2 million. Heile said the winning bid should be announced at the first Commissioners meeting in January.
In other action at Tuesday’s meeting, after months of study, the Commissioners approved changes to the County’s Zoning Ordinance and Schedule of Uses. The Commissioners did note that as unforeseen situations arise, future modifications to the County’s zoning code are likely.
