A new program in Martin County is designed to improve access to local law enforcement services.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Department reports they have assigned deputies to each of the county’s six townships and Crane Village in order to better address community needs. Brief, informal, town-hall style meetings in each township have been scheduled in order to engage the public on how law enforcement services can better serve the community.

The first meetings are December 14TH. Captain Tony Dant will host the gathering at 6 in Perry Township at the Civil Defense Building. Also that night at 7 Deputy Tyler Reed will host a meeting the Crane Town Hall.
Center and Halbert Township residents can attend a December 15th meeting at Shoals Town Hall officiated by Deputies Tyler Reed and Cody Shinn. That’s at 6-pm.
Lost River Township residents are invited to a December 18th forum at 6 hosted by Major Andy Burkhardt at the Lost River fire station.
Sgt. Keith Keller will host the Rutherford Township Meeting at at 6 p.m. Dec. 19 s at the Truelove Church.
