A Washington City Councilman has put his name in the hat to be State Representative in District 63.
The Daviess County Republican Party Facebook Page reports that GOP Councilman Jerry Sidebottom has filed for the seat being vacated by Mike Braun of Jasper. Braun announced a week ago he would resign to focus on his campaign for US Senate.
Also being considered for Braun’s seat is Jasper Republican Shane Lindauer.
A Republican Caucus will be held Monday at Jasper’s City Hall to pick Braun’s replacement.
District 63 includes the counties of Davies, Pike, Martin and Dubois.
