Mary Kay Patterson

Mary Kay Patterson, 80, of Loogootee, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born June 14, 1937 in Loogootee to the late Glenn and Helen (Soeder) Morgan.

Mary Kay was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was a team leader for the funeral dinner committee. She also volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul. She retired from Duke Energy in 1996 as a customer service representative.

She had a talent for many crafts from sewing, quilting, refinishing furniture and turning a thrift store bargain into something beautiful and treasured by family and friends.

Mary Kay is survived by her husband of 60 years, George B. Patterson, Jr. of Loogootee; children, Gail Myers of San Diego, CA, Morgan Patterson of Noblesville, Alice (Paul) Smith of Roswell, GA, Julia (Jim) Day of Bloomington, Georgia (Randy) Templin of Hagerstown, Amy (Jeff) Williams of Crestwood, KY and Neil Patterson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Ericka Myers, Chanel (Noah) Kincaid, Will (Becca) and Brian (Josey) Butcher, Janice and Jace Day, Anna (Matt) Nistler, Alex and Bret Templin, Andrew and Grant Williams and Maya and Amina Patterson; great-grandchildren, Moshe and Adelina Kincaid; siblings, Ruth (Ken) Dupps, Jane (Truman) Hedrick, Mona Harrison, Ted (Cheryl) Morgan and Tana (Fred) Porter; sisters-in-law, Gloria Hart and Sandy Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Helen (Soeder) Morgan; brother, Carl “Bus” Morgan and brother-in-law, William “Bill” Hart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walker at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee.
