River flood update

high-water-sign

State Road 358 is closed between Plainville and Edwardsport as river flooding continues in western and southern Indiana.  Levels ranged from near bankfull to 5 feet above flood stage.

As of Sunday night, the crest on the Wabash River was downstream of Terre Haute. On the White River, the crest was at Edwardsport. On the East Fork White River, the crest was near Rivervale.

Much of central Indiana remained dry on Sunday with a few thunderstorms dropping locally heavy rains approaching one inch. The pattern looks to dry out for much of the rest of the week which will allow rivers to fall below flood stage. The White at Edwardsport is at 20 feet and again at crest.  Again State Road 358 between Edwardsport and Plainville is closed.
