Indiana State Police arrested an Alabama man in Dubois County for rape, criminal confinement and sexual battery. That investigation involved an alleged incident with a female at a hotel in Huntingburg. Arrested was Jefferey Scott Vanherreweghe of Crossville, Alabama. The two had met online and agreed to meet. The suspect reportedly allegedly became violent in the hotel room and the woman screamed. Hotel employees eventually had to get a key and attempted to enter, which allowed for the woman to get free long enough to unlock the deadbolt to the room. The woman left and later went to a hospital where the investigation began.
