Richard C. (Buck) Green, 71, of Loogootee, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at his home.
He was born October 21, 1945 in Washington, Indiana to the late Walter R. and Afra (Carrico) Green.
Buck was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed Notre Dame Football, NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was retired after 40 years as a laborer for a local feed mill. After retirement, he worked at Wal Mart in the meat department.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Walter R. and Afra (Carrico) Green; brother-in-law, Robert Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Bledsoe) Green of Loogootee; sons, Richard J. (Jessica) Green and Edward Green, both of Loogootee; grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Brendan and Savannah Green; sister, Judith Blackwell; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. J. Kenneth Walkerat 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loogootee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church with a Knights of Columbus service to be held at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
