Jim Schelliinger attended a lunch Wednesday attended by over 30 elected and appointed officials involved in economic development.

The President of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation was in Washington yesterday and attended a lunch with the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation.

Jim Schellinger was invited to town by DCEDC Director Ron Arnold to learn more about the economic development activities in our county.  Schellinger said quote “we’re knocking it out of the park…” when compared to the rest of the state…

Schellinger said workforce development is a key to creating workers needed in Indiana, a state ranked by Forbes Magazine as the 8th best for doing business.  He says to improve workforce development there needs to be investment in education.  He says the state program “You Can Go Back” is a way for the 750,000 Hoosiers with some college but no degree, to finish what they started.

About 35 local leaders attended yesterday’s lunch to hear and meet with Schellinger.
