Absentee voting ending today for this week’s Municipal Election

Absentee voting ends at noon today for tomorrow’s municipal election.

Voters will go to the polls tomorrow to vote for various city offices in incorporated towns and cities across Indiana.

Here in Washington there are only two contested races. In District 5 ,  Republican Seairra Decker and Bill Walton the democrat  are vying for the seat being vacated by Jim Greene who is not seeking re-election.  The other race is for Washington City Council At-Large.  Three candidates are running for two seats.  Incumbents Jason Petty, a Republican, and Democrat Blake Chambers and newcomer Republican Grant Stafford are on the ballot.

There is also a town clerk treasurer’s race in Odon.  Also Odon residents can vote for their At Large town council members. There are three candidates running for two seats.  Meanwhile in Elnora four people are running for three town council seats.

Daviess County Clerk Janice Williams encourages voters to vote today before noon or tomorrow on Election Day.  Her staff has been hard at work preparing for the election……

Again absentee voting is ending at noon today.  As of Friday last week there had been 137 absentee votes cast in Daviess County.  Polls are open tomorrow from 6 to 6.  Join us for election coverage tomorrow evening as we run down results as they come in from Washinton, Odon, Elnora and also from Petersburg, Vincennes, Bicknell and Loogootee.
