Anthony “Tony” F. Hollander, 76, passed away at home Sunday surrounded by his family.
He was born July 30, 1939, in Ferdinand, to Henry and Mary (Whipking) Hollander.
He attended and graduated from Montgomery High School. He was a farmer who owned and operated a hog operation, a coal miner, and he owned and operated Hoosier Heavy Equipment. Tony loved to fish and hunt. He was also a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Billie Jo (Thompson) Hollander, whom he married March 15, 1958; daughters, Debra (John Pat) Hart, Karen (Richard) Dye, all of Cannelburg; brothers, Henry “Hank” (Chloe) Hollander of Fort Branch, Tom (Sue) Schultheis of Washington, Jerry (Betty) Schultheis of Cannelburg and Joseph “Bud” Schultheis of Panama City, Florida; sisters, Joyce (Grandville) Holland of Comminski, Lois (Joe) Schnarr, Carolyn (Lonnie) Allen, and Mary Harder, all of Washington; grandchildren, Alisa (Stephen) Sargeant of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony (Liz) Hart of Newport, Kentucky; great-grandson, James Hart; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Hollander; mother, Mary Hollander Schultheis; stepfather, Joseph Schultheis; daughter, Toni Kaye Hollander; and sister and brother-in-law, Hettie and Bob Wolfe.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Martin Catholic Church in Whitfield, with Rev. Kenneth Walker officiating. Burial will be in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg.
