Cyberbullying to be discussed at the Powerhouse

internet-safety

June is National Internet Safety Month and Washington Mayor Joe Wellman has joined 41 other mayors and elected officials across the state and proclaimed this week as Internet Safety Week in the city.  The week is dedicated to recognizing the importance and raising awareness of staying safe while using the internet.

Today, AT & T Indiana External Affairs Director Pepper Mulherin will be visiting the Powerhouse to talk to young people about “cyberbullying.”

Cyberbullys use digital media like the internet and cell phones to deliberately and repeatedly hurt, harass or embarrass someone else.  Mulherin will talk about the effects of the behavior and what can be done to address it and when can be done to help.  The presentation is today at 4-pm.
