Loogootee police make an arrest

-Loogootee police report they arrested 19-year-old Tre A. Blanton yesterday.  He’s charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of a Legend Drug and he was lodged in the Martin County Security Center.

-The Washington Police Department arrested a local man overnight after an investigation.  38-year-old Derek T. Wininger was jailed without bond for Domestic Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury, Strangulation and Criminal Confinement.

-The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department made an early morning arrest.  36-year-old Detric O. Doe of Washington was jailed for Possession of Meth and Paraphernalia.  Bond was posted.

 —No arrest was made as county and city police were involved in a chase and an apparent manhunt last night.  Daviess County Deputies tried to stop a vehicle in the Prairie Creek area of 400-north when the vehicle fled about 6:35 last night.  A chase ensued that ended up in Washington with city police assisting.  The man in the vehicle at one point was said to have been reaching for something and was believed to have possibly been armed.   The chase ended up on Meredith Street where the man abandoned his vehicle and ran away on foot.  He was described as a Caucasian male, wearing a white t-shirt and had a scruffy beard.  He was last seen running into woods behind a residence on Apraw Road.  A foot search involving a k9 was unsuccessful.  The vehicle was towed and was being searched.  Police reports say they did find a magazine pouch but no gun in the car.   The investigation continues.   There were no injuries and no reported damage in the incident.

 

-There was an accident with no injuries reported at noon Tuesday at 100 North and 200-East.

-A resident on State Road 57 North reported a safe stolen and a bedroom window broken. That was investigated at 4:20-pm Tuesday.
