Donald L. “Donnie” Cornelius passed away at his home July 19, 2018. He was born to Norval W. Cornelius and Mary Anita Cornelius (Bullock) July 4, 1963, and was a 1981 Graduate of Washington High School.
He was employed by HTH Company and contracted to GPC as a supervisor. He was an avid fisherman, loved his dogs and liked to collect cameras and vintage rock albums as he enjoyed music. His granddaughter was the apple of his eye. Donnie had never met a stranger and would literally give someone the shirt off of his back. He had a kind and generous way about him that will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
Donnie is survived by his daughter, Alyssa Cornelius; granddaughter Zaelynn Simpson; mother Mary Anita Cornelius; siblings Sheryl Hymer (Greg), Tim Cornelius (Gail), Tom Cornelius (Joan), Laura Jane Smith and David Cornelius; and many nieces and nephews.
Donnie is preceded in death by his father, Norval Cornelius; and his sister-in-law, Rhonda Cornelius.
The family will be accepting visitors Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E.
