Motorist dies in single vehicle crash on I69

         A man died in a crash on I69 early Friday in Greene County.

          It happened at 2-am when 54-year-old Fred M. Thompson of Bloomington was driving a 2002 Explorer southbound.  The vehicle hit a guardrail near the 100 mile marker.  Investigators say Thompson had been traveling at a high rate of speed and left the road and went partially into the median and hit the guardrail. The driver’s door was ripped off in the collision as the vehicle continued for 200 feet and Thompson was ejected.  Thompson was taken to IU Health in Bloomington where he died of injuries.

          The accident investigation is continuing as authorities await toxicology reports.
