In a somwhat related matter, the Council approved an ordinance establishing a fee to be paid by subdivision developers to defray the city’s cost of installing electric service to new areas.

In other economic moves,  the Council took action to revitalize industry and add industrial jobs on Washington’s west side by declaring the rail car shops an “Economic Revitalization Area”.   Eagle Railcar is looking to start production and the Council’s resolution will pave the way for the City to offer economic development incentives to the industry.
