(NETWORK IN) A southern Indiana man was killed in a fireworks accident in Henderson, Kentucky Monday night. The Henderson Gleaner reports that 25-year-old Michael Osborne was hit in the chest when the device he was lighting ignited prematurely. Deputy Henderson County Coroner Bill Schwartz told the newspaper it was “a big ordnance” that was “supposed to explode 100 feet in the air.” An autopsy will be conducted in Louisville, but Schwartz said it appears Osborne was hit so hard that it stopped his heart.
