Councilman Mike Singleton volunteered to chair a special task force to gather the public’s input and ideas on a golf cart ordinance. Singleton invites the public to attend either of the two meetings to voice their support or opposition to the idea. The meetings will be held in City Council chambers on Thursday, July 7th, and Tuesday, July 12th. The public may stop in anytime between 6:30 and 7:30 pm either of those evenings to talk with the members. Singleton will then take the public’s input and report back to the Council at their July 25th meeting. If the task force wishes to proceed, then an ordinance will be presented to the Washington City Council. Passing an ordinance requires an official public hearing on it and two readings at subsequent Council meetings prior to the Council vote.
