Winter hangs on

Here is the latest on the weather front.

Daviess, Knox and Martin and Greene Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory.

Rain today is expected to change to snow by around noon today.  The advisory will run from Noon today to 9-am tomorrow.  The National Weather Service says 3 to 5 inches of snow could fall in the advisory areas.  Travel will be difficult if that occurs so be prepared for changing conditions today.

Meanwhile, Pike, Dubois and Gibson Counties are under a Winter Storm Warning from 7-am today to 7-am tomorrow Eastern Time.  Those areas could see up to 6 inches of snow and possibly more in the Dubois County area and farther southeast.

In addition, motorists across the area this morning should be wary of slick spots and black ice developing on the roads throughout the morning. Wet roads, bridges and overpasses will refreeze in spots as temperatures fall.  There’s light sleet and snow possible before noon today.
Use caution, slow down and allow extra time to get where your going today.
