State police were very busy during the latest winter storm

 Indiana State Police say they responded to more than 600 weather related calls because of the storm that dumped up to 8 inches of snow in some areas.


State police say that includes about 250 crashes, more than 235 vehicles that slid off the road and more than 135 calls from motorists with traffic or weather related problems.

The National Weather Service says Indianapolis surpassed its average of 2.6 inches of snow for March in hours Sunday, with more than 7.5 inches of snow falling by Sunday afternoon.

The weather service reports 8 inches of snow fell in Ellettsville in Monroe County and Frankfort in Clinton County, nearly 8 inches of snow in Muncie and 7 inches in Terre Haute, Peru, West Lafayette and Jefferson.
