Tax statements are due to be mailed April 2nd. First installments will be due on or before May 11, 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak, the Daviess County Treasurer’s office prefers taxpayers make their payments by mail or electronically as follows:
1. Mail your tax statement(s) and check to: Daviess County Treasurer, 200 E. Walnut St, Washington, IN 47501. If you would like a receipt mailed back to you, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. 2. Pay online at www.govtechtaxpro.com. Go to State – Indiana, then to Collector – Daviess. You can search by parcel number or name. You can then pay by credit or debit card or e-check. A fee is charged by the service company.
3. Due to the request by State and local health officials to reduce gatherings of people, paying in person at the Treasurer’s office is least preferable. If you must pay in person, there will be a drop-box inside the east door ramp by security. Please pay by check or money order. Cash is not preferred.
The governor has ordered that late fees for late payments be waived for 60 days following the May 11th due date.
