
The Washington Catholic girls soccer team played the ranked Sullivan Golden Arrows at Sullivan last night and came away with a 1-1 tie. The game was controlled by good defense on both sides. WC trailed 1-0 with 1:50 left when Senior defender Brynna Hunter found the back of the net for the equalizer. Up next for WC is White River Valley on Tuesday.
Coach Shelly Lengacher join the ranks as the all time winningest coach in Lion Volleyball recording win number 200 last night in solid fasion shutting down the Forest Park Rangers in straight sets at Jack Butcher Arena 25-14, 25-23, 25-18. The Lions host their own invitational coming up tomorrow. Congratulations Coach Lengacher!
The Washington Hatchet Volleyball team came away with a win over North Daviess last night 18-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-23. The Hatchets finished with 14 aces and Katie Reed recorded five blocks in the win.
The Hatchet Junior High Volleyball teams traveled to Loogootee last night. The 7th grade fell in straight sets, dropping to 4 and 2 while the 8th graders defeated the Lady Lions in three to move to 5 and 1. The Junior High plays at Jasper on Monday.
The Barr-Reeve Tennis team lost to North Daviess 3-2 on Thursday night to go 11-3 on the season. Their next match will be vs Heritage Hills on Saturday.
Under the Friday night lights tonight, we move to week four with the big showdown tonight at Hatchet Hollow. It’s the battle for the Highway 57 Helmet as Washington will host North Daviess. Kick-off is set for 7pm and you can catch live coverage on Memories 107.9fm and The Razor 94.5 WRZR.
