An Illinois man faces multiple charges after allegedly choking his child’s mother.
On Monday, around 4:00 pm, the Jasper Police Department says they received two 911 hang up calls.
Officers responded to the scene and said they discovered that 28-year-old Micka Koger had strangled his child’s mother at least four times – one of those while holding the one-year-old child.
Officers say the female victim tried to call police for help, but Koger knocked the phone out her hand.
It was later learned the victim had a protective order against Koger.
A small amount of marijuana was located at the scene along with a 4-year child.
Koger was arrested and booked into the Dubois County Jail.
He is charged with Strangulation, Domestic Battery, Neglect of a Dependent, Interference of Reporting a Crime, Invasion of Privacy, and Possession of Marijuana.
