Purdue Extension is now estimating that crop losses could come out in excess of $475 million. Officials say Indiana has dropped from having above average corn to having well below normal. In the first week of June the USDA‘s report had 75% of Indiana‘s corn crop was rated at good to excellent, but this week’s report has that number at 48%. Officials say it’s no secret that rainfall has been devastating farm fields around the state. So far it’s been ranked as the second worse corn crop in the last decade.
